Instruments of Statecraft

This Web site hosts the complete text of the book by the same name. The book, by Michael McClintock, is a study of U.S. guerilla warfare, counterinsurgency, and counterterrorism from 1940 to 1990. The site ain’t much to look at, but it’s a powerful read and I’m pleased to make this out-of-print book available to the public. The project is the result of a year or so of negotiations with the author and publisher and the slow, dilligent OCRing of the text. I hope to eventually post some of the declassified source material, too.
